Southerndown Beach

Arguably one of the most memorable scenes of modern-day Doctor Who took place at Bad Wolf Beach. We all cried when the Doctor and Rose had to say goodbye to each other, through parallel worlds on a Norwegian beach. The beach is actually not in Norway but in Wales, and the coastline is very stunning even without the geek references. When you see it, you can understand why this coastal line has been used for filming this often, with it’s whimsical sedimentary rock cliffs. Next to Bad Wolf Beach, the beach area was used as the surface of the alien planet in “The Time of Angels” and “Flesh and Stone” and as the engine room of the ark ship in “Dinosaurs on a Spaceship”. It also appeared in one of the episodes of another BBC series, Merlin.
