Museum of Pop Culture

If this museum isn’t for geeks, we don’t know what is. Okay, to be honest, pop culture is of course much broader than geek culture. This large and colourful museum also hosts semi-permanent exhibitions on Seattle’s musical heroes Nirvana, Pearl Jam and Jimi Hendrix. But MoPOP, as it’s abbreviated, loves geek entertainment in all its veins, as you can tell from their recent exhibits on Marvel, Jim Henson and indie games. At the core of the museum are rooms dedicated to horror, sci-fi and fantasy, plus a ‘hall of fame’ containing paraphenalia of heroes, alive and dead, from the world of genre. The displays and design of the museum is beautiful, the accompanying texts are informative and the personnel is very friendly – MoPOP is a must-see for anyone interested in popular culture!
