So what’s it like?
Thought Bubble is a gem amidst the fast growing army of non-descript cons that are rapidly taking over Europe. Thought Bubble is all about comics. The con floor is basically one big artist alley. Artists sell and sign their comics, and believe us when we say that the standards are really high at Thought Bubble. You have to be a proper (indie) comic artist to get a table here, so you won’t get in if all you’ve drawn is fan art. Although most artists are British or from countries close by, expect to see some pretty big names from the US too! Why they come all the way to the UK for a small con in Leeds? Because Thought Bubble is that good.

Pros:
If you love comics, you’re going to walk around this place with a big smile on your face. Oh, and don’t forget to read their website thoroughly, because there is much more going on besides the main weekend. Workshops, exhibitions, you name it.

Cons:
If you’re not that big of a comic fan, and you’re more the all round geek type, we’re not sure if Thought Bubble is the con for you. There is some cosplay, but it’s still a rare find. If you’re looking for action figures or games, you’d better look elsewhere.

The Area:
We adore Leeds. It’s a typical Northern English city: not too big, but oh so lovely. It has some really good geekshops, in the rare case that you have some money left after the con. The Royal Armouries, one of the con’s locations, is a immensely cool museum, stuffed with all kinds of weapons. Swords, spears, some old timey guns, and even elephant armour. Yes: armour. For an elephant.
